Singapore House
Most people in Singapore live in public housing. When talked about public housing, people from other countries would think that these houses are owned by the Government but in fact, these houses are not owned by the government but they are owned by the citizens who live in these houses. All these houses or properties are situated in housing estates, which is a place that has clinics, schools, super markets, sporting facilities, recreational facilities, hawker centers, etc. These houses are known as HDB properties because they have been constructed by the Housing and Development Board.
If you have experience with searching for houses then you would agree with me that searching for a house in Singapore is not an easy job. If you are an expatriate then it would be more difficult for you to search for your dream home in Singapore as you may not know the locations well and you may have some trouble with pronouncing the street names or names of the neighbourhood. According to some partners, you have to think of four important things before you move ahead and buy a house in Singapore.
- Budget: You have to determine your budget first before you look for a house. A budget is an approximate amount of money that you are willing to spend on buying a house for you and your family. After determining your budget, you can have a fair idea about the type of house which you can afford to buy. It is when you have some idea out the kind of house you can afford; you can move a step forward and start looking for a Singapore house that would fit your budget.
- Ideal location: You may be new in Singapore but you must have some ideal about the ideal place, where the house that you are intending to buy is situated. For example, you should look for properties in those areas which are not very far from your work place and your kids’ school. What kind of location are you looking for a home in? Do you like the hustling and busting in the middle of the city? Or do you prefer somewhere quite and peaceful? Take these factors in to account when you are searching for a house in Singapore so that you can get your dream home.
- Amenities or facilities: You should also think of the different amenities of facilities that you want. Do you want a play ground for your kids? Or perhaps you would prefer a gym or supermarket near your house? Whatever facilities that you prefer you should note it down in a piece of paper and tell your agent about them so that they can help you find the house that has these amenities or facilities.
- Public transportation: If you do own a car then you would be travelling to different locations by means of transportation. You should find out how far it is from your home to the nearest MRT station or bus stop .
