Are You Undecided about Renting Or Purchasing ?
When looking for property in Singapore, you need to take into consideration whether or not you want to rent or purchase. There are different considerations in regards to each proposition that you need to consider. Renting is nice to do, but you do not have ownership of the property and must always make monthly payments to the owner of the property. You are also responsible for renters insurance and keeping the rental property in its correct condition. Certain repairs will be made by the owner of the property.
Another thing to consider is that you will also be responsible for any damages and can be sued for damages to a rental property. There are also ramifications to consider in regards to the lease itself. These leases are very strict in what you can and cannot do inside a rental property or to that property itself. You will have a place to stay, but a landlord can evict you at any time without reasonable notice. Buying on the other hand will remit you a place that is your own, that you are the only one responsible for the property. It is yours.
However there are some drawbacks to buying a property. Finances are the one stopping consideration for the purchase of a property such as a house. You have to be able to afford the property in question. You will also be responsible for property taxes, solicitor’s taxes for purchase, insurance and other such financial questions. The main thing that you need to be certain of, no matter whether you lease or purchase is “Can I afford to do this?” This will answer your questions about whether or not to rent or purchase a property.
Now here are some of the perks of rental properties. One of the advantages of renting is that you are not responsible for outside maintenance and upkeep. Another one is that you don’t pay property taxes. You also do not have to worry about a mortgage payment. The perks of ownership are that you have interest paid on a mortgage is a tax write off. Another is that property owners have a better standing in the community than someone who rents a property. They also have the legal precedent in any type of legal proceeding. This is just some of the perks that are afforded to property owners.
With that said, there is a lot of decision making to be had with both positions. Each one comes with its own risk and reward. By carefully taking everything into consideration, you will be able to better make a choice as to which one would be best for you and your situation. By carefully researching both options, you will be better informed and able to make the correct choice. Renting or buying is a major decision and should not be rushed through at any time. By taking your time and exploring your options, you will make the right decision for you.
